It is my privilege to convene regular meeting of the NACCC Leadership Council. The council is composed of two representatives of each Ministry Council: Missions and Outreach, Vitality, and Growth and the Moderator and Vice Moderator. Leadership Council is a place where regular updates of programs and services are given and discussed within the context of the vision of the NACCC.
This year Leadership Council is also emphasizing new priorities in our meetings. In July we explored the report of the Racial Justice Task Team and the potential for its recommendations to be carried out in our Ministry Councils and churches. Leadership Council is also taking a more intentional role in lifting up possibilities for the Annual Meeting and Conference that directly speak to our Association’s vision and needs. The Council also continues to follow the recommendations of the Planning and Action Committee regarding professionalism, visibility, and collaboration.
I want to thank the members of the Leadership Council for their commitment to the NACCC and for the energy and concern they bring to each meeting.
The Many Pieces of the Board of Directors
Jodee Lord, Vice-Moderator, Chair, Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is a large puzzle made up of several sub-committees. These committees each consist of a member from the Board of Directors and members from our local churches.
The Building and Loan Committee works with member churches that are seeking a financial loan from the NACCC. These loans assist with major repairs and building additions.
The Finance Committee works with the Treasurer and the CFO to produce a solid and well-thought-out budget, being good stewards of NACCC funds.
The Personnel and Administration Committee works together to create thoughtful staff job descriptions, reviews, and exit interviews.
The Congregationalist Editorial Advisory Team assists the editor with questions they may have and is a sounding board for the editor.
The committees are busy doing work that will help our member churches thrive. Many blessings to all of you.
Preserving Legacies
Kevin Gromley, Treasurer, Congregational Foundation Board of Governors
The Congregational Foundation is blessed with many endowments from generous individuals and from Congregational churches. These endowments reflect the wishes of the donors to provide long-term financial support to the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC) and its work supporting member churches and the Congregational way.
The Foundation exists to support the NACCC. The Foundation accepts endowment gifts and distributes funds from those endowments to the National Association in accordance with donors’ wishes. The Foundation Board also works to preserve the value of the initial gifts, so that there is a permanent source of funding for the NACCC. We are honored to preserve donors’ legacies as we strengthen the association.
“One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.”
Listening Tour
Rev. Dr Ashley Cleere, Executive Director
Following a summer flurry of phone calls and emails, the Listening Tour calendar is dotted with visits to California, New England, and Ohio before the end of the year. Kansas, New England, Florida, and Michigan are among the places penciled in for spring. Itineraries are not yet complete. Please feel free to suggest a possible visit to your area, noting that some regions will warrant multiple trips. Looking forward to meeting many more Congregationalists in the months to come!
One Great Hour of Sharing
The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches appreciates your compassionate generosity as we collaborate to care for God’s children.
The Mission and Outreach Ministry Council is working to identify partners responding to the disaster. Toward that end, contributions to the NACCC should include the notation OGHS-Idalia.
