The First Six Years

Six years. When I type that I have two feelings, it’s really not that long in the scheme of things but it has been an incredible and full six years, nonetheless.
I started at the 2017 Annual Meeting on the campus of what is now Piedmont University. I was nominated to be on the Vitality Ministry Council and since then I have attended every annual meeting including of course the two virtual ones.
I have also been on the task teams for the Center for Congregational Leadership, Year-Round Delegates, the Committee of CFTS, and a deep personal honor being on the search committee for the new executive director. Plus, I am humbled and honored to now be the chair of the Vitality Ministry Council, which is made up of phenomenal people from all over the country. The VMC continues to find ways to encourage the local church and the pastors within them.
It has been such an incredible six years that I find it hard to say that my term is up but alas, time stops for no one. I have been kindly asked to start writing my famous/infamous Mrs. Peabody stories once again which I am certain I will do, she hasn’t made an appearance for quite some time.
This isn’t goodbye of course. I am not going anywhere. My roles might change but I will never stop being part of the NACCC and the Congregational Way. Two things I love being a part of beyond what mere words can describe.
