NACCC mission statement: “To nurture fellowship among Congregational Christian Churches and to support ministries of the local church in its community and to the world, all in the name of Christ.”

On Saturday, October 22nd and 29th, The Mission and Outreach Ministry Council (MOMC) will meet by Zoom for their annual Fall Retreat.  During that time, they will share updates about their mission partners; consider ongoing relief efforts and volunteer opportunities for the aftermath of Kentucky Flooding, Hurricane Ian, and Fiona; discuss distribution of One Great Hour of Sharing Funds (OGHS); work on their budget for 2023-2024; and plan for the 2023 Annual Meeting and Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin which includes itinerating missionaries.

This mission trip is a MOMC collaboration with Cherokee United Methodist Church and A Christian Ministry in the National Parks, Colorado, an NACCC mission.

EXPERIENCE

1. The Cherokee Culture:

• by Worship which celebrates tradition
• by visiting the Oconaluftee Village
• by sharing in a Cherokee Meal
• by visiting the Cherokee Museum

2. The Essence of Community:

• Shared meal preparation
• Camp style bunk house living
• A trail hike (for those who are able)

3. The Real Cost of Moving a Nation of Cherokee:

• A Trail of Tears history
• The nature of the reservation
• Cultural statistics and modern practices

4. The joys of a Blue Ridge Mountain hike

• Acknowledging the wonders of nature
• Finding God in our adventure
• Renewing our Faith

Every Advent, individuals from our member churches submit writings of daily devotions to be included in a Devotional Booklet to help mark the season. Printed copies of Devotionals may be purchased from the NACCC.  Devotionals are $3.50 each. Payment must be made prior to shipping.
